Neighbors can’t park near their homes but the developer’s crew parks wherever it wants.
Photos of current traffic safety issues. Problems include low visibility and bottlenecks caused by congested parking, delivery trucks and cars parking too close to intersections and crosswalks as well as blocking crosswalks.
South side of NW 70th Street between 8th Ave and Division Ave NW:
Bottleneck at NW 70th Street and 8th Ave NW. 1/13/15, 3:30 p.m. The limo is unusual here but the school bus and waiting cars aren’t.
Delivery truck parked and blocking crosswalk at NW 70th Street and 8th Ave NW. Adds to low visibility for cars turning on and off 8th Ave NW. Pedestrians are forced out of crosswalk and can’t see what’s coming eastbound on 70th Street. 1/12/15, 10:30 a.m.
North side of NW 70th Street by 8th Ave NW:
“I’ll only be here [in crosswalk] 5 minutes while I run in Take 5.”
Car parked too close to crosswalk (should be 20 feet) on north side of NW 70th Street by 8th Ave. This adds to bottlenecks when cars try are turning off 8th Ave west onto 70th Street but can’t because there’s no space to turn onto 70th when cars are lined up at the stop sign waiting to enter 8th Ave. Sometimes cars are stuck in the bike line on 8th as they wait for the 70th Street bottleneck to clear like the VW van behind the school bus.
